At the end of this session, the participant will be able to: • Understand how POCUS can be used by the cardiologist in everyday practice • Describe how to perform lung ultrasound and limited vascular (abdominal aorta, femoral vein) imaging techniques and interpretation. • Recognize the training requirements for the optimal use of POCUS. • Describe the limitations of handheld and POCUS to ensure its complementary role in relation to the comprehensive echocardiographic exam. Acquire a hands-on introduction to non-cardiac POCUS that can enhance and complement the cardiovascular examination in the assessment of heart failure, pleural disease, fluid status and the abdominal aorta.
