Parvathy Nair, Canada

Dr. Nair is an echocardiographer and cardiologist at the Vancouver General Hospital. Dr. Nair’s research interests are in medical education, publishing in the areas of both curriculum and assessment in echocardiography. She is co-chair and primary author of the 2023 CCS/CSE Physician Training Standards in Echocardiography, and was recipient of the CSE’s CREATE grant for a medical education project in 2021. Dr. Nair has been on the executive and examination board of the RCPSC Cardiology Exam Committee as well as nucleus member of the RCPSC Cardiology Subspecialty Committee for over 10 years. She is currently the UBC Postgraduate Lead for Competency Based Medical Education and the Accreditation Lead for the UBC Undergraduate Medical Program. She is also the liaison between Postgraduate medicine and Faculty Development at UBC, creating a strategy for EDI for UBC Postgrad and other strategies to support clinical teaching faculty. She serves as a consultant to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC in the area of cardiology licensure. Dr. Nair did her MD and Cardiology training at Queen’s University, and echocardiology fellowship at the UHN in the University of Toronto before completing a Certificate in UIC Master Health Professions Education.
